10th Anniversary Women Murder Club James Patterson Maxine Paetro Books

I have enjoyed most of the previous novels of the Women’s Murder Club series and I believe the 10th Anniversary was a good addition. Yes, James Patterson doesn't have the greatest prose. The man isn't John Steinbeck or Ernest Hemingway, but his books are entertaining. The book is more like three short stories combined into one novel.

First, there is Lindsay Boxer investigating a teenager whose baby was missing and the young girl supposedly has no idea where she is. Then we have Lindsay with an issue concerning her marriage to Joe Molinari, a police officer. The last story is of Yuki Castellano, a lawyer and how she struggles to prosecutes a woman who she believes murdered her husband. The stories are entwined together creatively for an enjoyable read.

The reader never has to put a Patterson’s book down because he creates mystery, adventure, and murder throughout each book he writes. This series is fast paced, some you’ll like more than others but James Patterson still keeps you interested and tied to your seat to finish the book in one setting if you wished….

10th Anniversary Women Murder Club James Patterson Maxine Paetro Books Reviews

A teenager gives birth to a baby boy. The baby is later found unharmed and healthy. A surgeon is on trial for killing her husband.
As for the women of the murder club, Joe and Lindsay get married, Cindy and Rich are living together, and Yuki starts to date Jackson Brady.
I couldn't figure out "Who Done It?" In the Dennis Martin murder. Several good possibilities and in the end, what a story to behold. The side mystery turned out well in favour of the
LGBTQ Community and in betterment of people in general.
On the whole, a good book. Now onto #11!!!!
Women showing up with no memory of the previous 8 to 12 hours, finding out they have been raped, the trial of an accused Dr. and the love life of the women's murder club, makes for excellent reading and suspense of the book. The heroine show her tenacity at crime solving when she is presented with information the may lead to another suspect, instead of the Dr. The subsequent identification of a wanted hit man, and the fact that he provides the testimony that ultimately nails the Dr. makes the book hard to put down.
I particularly like James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. I enjoyed the first nine books so much that I was surprised to see so many negative reviews of the tenth one. I wondered if the series really was on a drastic downhill slide. It isn't. 10th Anniversary is not a perfect book but it's a good one. All three plot lines held my interest--a murder trial, the disappearance of a baby, and a case of serial rapes. Like some other reviewers, I was sorry that Claire, one of my favorite characters, didn't play a major role in this story, but really, she couldn't. She's a coroner and, amazingly for James Patterson, nobody gets killed in this book until a perpetrator dies at the end. (The trial involves a crime that occurred long before the story begins.) I have found some of Patterson's books, such as Roses Are Red, too violent for my tastes, but this one is not. I thought the title was a bit contrived--the 10th anniversary refers to the friendship between Lindsay and Claire, and how many friendships have an anniversary? Most of mine evolve over time. I also was a little disappointed in the ending; I had hoped for a different outcome of the case on trial. But these are minor points. The important thing is that I was happy to meet Lindsay, Claire, Cindy, and Yuki again, and I was thoroughly engrossed in their newest adventures.
This tenth installment of James Patterson's "Women's Murder Club" is one of his better recent entries regarding believable multiple crimes being committed and tried at the same time. But as is Patterson's (Or whoever is actually writing his tsunami sized, unstoppable, release of one book after another... some of which are too ridiculous and off the "reservation" to comprehend. Such as one of the books previewed at the end of this story "Middle School The Worst Years Of My Life" which includes cartoonish drawn comic strip type characters on every other page.) wont the entire story is totally immersed in childish romantic interactions between adults that would be embarrassing to bobby soxers. And as always Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano has the most "trying" romantic interludes... and though she works in the D.A.'s office... she always seems to have a kindergarten level romantic soap opera involvement. For potential readers, I think I can prepare you for Yuki with this quote from her, despite her latest love interest being married and also being best pal Lindsay's boss "I'M A GONER, I JUST THOUGHT YOU LADIES WOULD LIKE TO KNOW. I'M A VERY MOONY LADY. OVER MY HEAD FOR JACKSON BRADY."

Meanwhile... back to the crimes. We've got a female heart surgeon on trial for murdering her philandering husband... and by the way the heart surgeon cheats also. There are a number of zigs and zags surrounding this case that are actually better presented than most cases in this series. There is a fifteen year old girl found bloody, passed out, and missing her newborn baby. And there are multiple female rape victims who wake up in strange places with little memory of the crime.

Oh, didn't I mention that in the opening pages Lindsay finally gets married to her oooohhhh so dreamy former honcho in homeland security, and in addition to Yuki oodling Lindsay's boss... other best friend Cindy is deeply and syrupy in love with Lindsay's partner and one time heartthrob Conklin? None of these romantic notations are spoilers in the sense that it will give away important parts of the book... they're simply spoilers to a decent crime story background.
